Anita Faurot is an award-winning photographer from Northern Virginia. Her
profession is that of a Legal Assistant, but her real passion is photography. She
never goes anywhere without her camera “because you never know when the
perfect shot will present itself”.
She was the Mid Atlantic finalist in the Staples Hometown Views photo contest and
has won many local awards, including Best of Show at the Prince William
County Fair. She has been published in Where Magazine in both Washington, DC
and Northern Virginia and the Photographer’s Edge catalog. Currently she has
photographs in the 2009 Bad Dog Calendar (June) and the 2009 Prince William
SPCA Calendar (April).
Mrs. Faurot loves to travel and has been to Europe three times and visited many
locations inside the continental United States. But still, one of her favorite places to
photograph is Washington, DC. Even after living in Northern Virginia for over 25
years, she still gets excited every time she crosses the bridge into DC and always
finds a fresh angle or approach to photographing the monuments. Mrs. Faurot
continues to hone her skills with instruction by E. David Luria, founder of the
Washington Photo Safari.
